ISLAMABAD: All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) General Secretary Dr Muhammad Amjad has said party leader Pervez Musharraf had accumulated no assets for himself, his children or relatives.
He said the former president did not have bank balances or assets abroad.
According to a press release, he said Musharraf had not done any corruption and if there had been any, it would have surfaced during the last eight years of investigation.
He said everyone knew who made assets abroad. He said The News senior reporter Ansar Abbasi is working on agenda of their rival political parties. He said Abbasi had “spewed venom” against the former president using the name of Transparency International.
He said a journalist should tell the truth instead of pursuing agenda of a political party or personal grudges. He said the former president would have gathered assets for himself and relatives like Asif Zardari and Nawaz Sharif had been corrupt.
He said, “Abbasi often spews venom against Musharraf and his reports do not meet any standards of truth.” He said Abbasi did not see corruption of political leaders.
