Shah orders inquiry into embezzlement of funds

SUKKUR: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah took notice of embezzlement in funds worth Rs54 billion allocated for re-strengthening of embankments and ordered Anti-Corruption department, Sindh Police, to probe into the matter.
He also ordered Irrigation Minister Sindh Nisar Ahmed Khuhro to form an inquiry committee.
The News has learnt that a petition was filed in the High Court Circuit bench at Sukkur by one Athar Ali Abro. The petitioner in his CP no:17/63 maintained that irrigation department has embezzled millions of rupees in the re-strengthening of the dykes.
