Musharraf’s loyalists surrounding Imran: Hamid Khan

Says those ridiculing us are calling shots in PTI

LAHORE: The differences within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) cadres have once again come to the fore, as Hamid Khan, a central party leader, on Saturday publicly alleged that Pervez Musharraf loyalists were surrounding the PTI chief Imran Khan.
He said that the people who were ridiculing the PTI were now calling the shots in the party.
Addressing a gathering of disgruntled party workers, Hamid Khan, also former chief election commissioner of PTI in the last intra-party polls, came down hard on former associates of Pervez Musharraf, including party secretary general Jehangir Khan Tareen, Punjab former IT minister Abdul Aleem Khan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak and others.
“Opportunists are a threat to the party. The committed workers, who rendered sacrifices for the party, had been ignored in the local government and the organising committees,” claimed Hamid.
Hamid said Imran Khan’s stance on massive rigging in the 2013 general elections was right but, unfortunately, the inefficient team could not present its viewpoint properly before the Judicial Commission.
He said recommendations by Justice (retd) Wajihuddin should be considered and membership of Jehangir Tareen, Abdul Aleem Khan, Nadir Leghari and Pervaiz Khattak should be suspended immediately.
