ISLAMABAD: In view of likely flood devastation, Pakistan Navy has put its Field Commands at high alert to generate swift response against emergent flood situation in various parts of Balochistan, Sindh and Punjab.
A spokesman of Pakistan Navy on Tuesday said that Regional Emergency Response Centres (ERCs) have been activated at Lahore, Sajawal, Ormara and Gwadar to undertake Flood Relief Operation. Emergency Response Teams and Diving teams have been deployed at Khairpur, Ghotki and Sukkur to assist civil administration, at short notice. Further, additional teams, if needed, will also be dispatched for Badin and Hyderabad. In order to collect donations/relief goods, Flood Relief Camps have been established at Islamabad, Karachi and Ormara. Pakistan Navy has also collected six tons of ration items which are being dispatched to flood affected area of Chitral through PAF C-130 aircraft.
