RAWALPINDI: The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif, on Monday said the Operation Zarb-e-Azb against terrorists had a positive impact in urban areas.
The army chief said the operation will continue till the elimination of the last terrorist. He said all the resources would be utilised for bringing peace in the country.According to the ISPR, General Raheel visited the headquarters of IV Corps, Lahore, where he was given a detailed briefing on professional matters and operational preparedness.
Later, the COAS also addressed the garrison officers focusing on internal and external security situation in the country and the ongoing Operation Zarb-e-Azb, intelligence based operations and their effects on the law and order situation in urban centres.
In his address, the army chief said that the operation against terrorists was continuing successfully and terror incidents had reduced in urban areas. He said the overall security situation in the country had improved after the launch of intelligence-based operations.
General Raheel reiterated that the Pakistan Army would eliminate terrorism.Earlier, on his arrival, General Raheel was received by Lieutenant General Naweed Zaman, Corps Commander, IV Corps.
