ISLAMABAD: The President of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and former prime minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has said that the Supreme Court should set up a commission for the immediate summary trial of 150 cases given in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) list, which should give its verdict in a 12-hour open trial.
Responding to various questions from media representatives about the list released by the NAB, Chaudhry Shujaat said if his suggestion is implemented then this issue will end forever.
He said the proposed commission should start hearing from 9:00am and its verdict should be announced the same day by 9:00pm. He proposed that the proceedings of the commission should be covered live and the people should have permission to witness the entire proceedings.
To another question, Chaudhry Shujaat said that after filtering 150 cases given in the NAB list, hearing of the most important cases must be started to resolve the matter .”I offer that I should be tried first, everything will become crystal clear,” the PML-Q leader said.
