RIYADH: Saudi Arabia-led coalition spokesman Brigadier General Ahmed Asseri said on Friday that Pakistan had not yet informed them about the resolution adopted by its parliament on the Yemen crisis.
However, he expressed the desire about the participation of Pak armed forces in the operation against the Houthi rebels in Yemen.Pakistani parliament desires that Pakistan should maintain neutrality in the Yemen conflict so that Islamabad might be able to play a proactive diplomatic role to end the crisis, media reports said.
Saudi Arabia played down the decision, saying it was not yet a final move because “the Pakistani government has not announced an official position till now,” Brigadier General Ahmed Asseri said. “The presence of our Pakistani brothers would be an addition, but the lack of their ground, naval or air deployment will not affect the operations of the coalition,” he added.
