MANDI BAHAUDDIN/SIALKOT: The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer, Sirajul Haq, on Monday advised the Government of Pakistan to play the role of a mediator along with Turkey in the Yemen conflict.
Speaking to the media, the JI Ameer asked the Pakistani and Turkish prime ministers to find a peaceful way out of the Yemen crisis.Talking about the operation in Karachi, Siraj said no discrimination should be made during the clean-up process in the metropolis.
He said the Karachi operation should not be used for political gains. He advised the Muttahida Qaumi Movement to hand over militant elements of the party to law enforcement agencies.He hoped to see lasting peace in Karachi.
Replying to a question, Siraj said any amendment in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreed between the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and the government to probe the alleged rigging in elections will be considered a fraud.
Earlier, addressing the Khushhal Pakistan Rally arranged by JI workers, the JI chief said Muslims all over the world were equally responsible for defending and protecting the Haramain Sharifain.
Speaking on the Yemen issue, he said sending troops to Yemen in support of Saudi Arabia was not an easy task. He said any conflict between Iran and Saudi Arabia would benefit the United States and Israel and the Muslims would be at a loss. He said taping phones of politicians was an illegal and immoral activity on the part of rulers and it must be stopped.
