KARACHI: PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari phoned MQM chief Altaf Hussain and lobbied for the position of Senate chairman. Asif Ali Zardari, the former president, discussed the Senate elections, the current political situation and continued saying that the current situation of Pakistan needed to enhance political reconciliation and unity among the people.
The PPP and MQM enjoyed good relations in the past and ways understand each others’ political mindset, said the former president. While the MQM chief, endorsing the viewpoint, said that Pakistan is for all and the political parties’ mandate should be acknowledged. He said that the people who had merit should also be given chance to rule or serve the people.
