Man injured in bombing arrested, shifted for interrogation

SUKKUR: The Sukkur police shifted an injured man, suspected for being involved in the Imambargah bombing case, from a hospital to an unknown location on Thursday.
The News learnt from reliable sources that seven days after the Shikarpur Imambargah incident, the Sukkur police have taken into custody an injured victim, Ghulam Abbas, from a private hospital in the city and shifted him to an unknown place.
Sources in the police said Ghulam Abbas belonged to Kasur district of Punjab and the investigating team were probing his presence and his injuries in the Imambargah blast.
They were investigating how and why he had come to the Imambargah. The team was also investigating from local people whether he was a guest of any local resident or had come only to offer his prayers.
Reliable sources said the citizens of Shikarpur as well as a member of the 10-member Shuhada Committee had provided information about him.
Sources said the investigation team questioned him for three days and then took him into custody on Thursday when his replies could not satisfy them. He was shifted to unknown place for further investigation.
Police said the man had a fractured leg. They said he stated during questioning that he had stopped in Shikarpur to offer prayers while on his way to Sehwan Sharif where he had a plan for Ziarat.
Sources said investigation was under way and it is not possible at this stage to say anything about his involvement in the incident.
