ISLAMABAD: The Interior Ministry on Saturday delegated authority to Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif to take a decision on former president Gen (R) Pervez Mushrraf’s plea, seeking permission to travel to Saudi Arabia to offer condolences to the royal family over the death of King Abdullah.
The prime minister reportedly started consultation with the Foreign Ministry to make a decision regarding Musharraf’s application.
On Friday, Faisal Chaudhry, advocate, filed an application with the Interior Ministry on behalf of Pervez Musharraf, seeking permission to travel to Saudi Arabia to mourn the death of the Saudi King and meet family members. The former president currently has his name placed on the Exit Control List (ECL).
