KARACHI: While strongly condemning the derogatory sketches that have hurt the Muslim Ummah, the participants of a dialogue, “Changing World Scenario and Interfaith Harmony” unanimously demanded that all those religious parties, including the Jamaat-e-Islami, who provoked aggression and violence and are supporting the Taliban and Daish should immediately be banned.
The resolution was unanimously adopted at a dialogue organised by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Saturday night. It demanded of the authorities and the government to put an immediate ban on the JI which was endorsed by all the participants, including Ulema belonging to all sects and people from different walks of life.
Addressing the seminar, Altaf Hussain asked why it was only in Karachi that violence took place when the entire country was demonstrating against the publication of sacrilegious cartoons.
“The student wing of the Jamaat-e-Islami created a chaotic situation and attacked the police and the media who were performing their duties,” Altaf said, adding that once again the JI wanted bloodshed in the city.
Altaf Hussain further said that Daish and the Taliban are killing innocent people and no religious party staged demonstrations against them, say a word in condemnation or even they openly oppose them. It is because they have a soft corner for these religious extremism and are supporting them.
He also asked why none of the religious parties staged protests against the Peshawar carnage that left several innocent children Shaheed. Paying tribute to the Shuhda of Peshwer, he saluted the armed forces for their struggle in eliminating terrorism and militancy from the country, adding that entire nation is at the back of armed forces in war against terror.
The participants also condemned silence of the Organisation of Islamic Countries and the Millat-e-Islamia, saying that with the publications of blasphemous cartoons Muslim over the world are being provoked but said that these and other reactionary situation is heading towards third world war.
Referring to the 9/11 twin tower attack, Altaf said the then President George Bush said it was a start of crusade war. He also quoted, what he said, fascist philosopher of Russia Alexander Dugin who presented fourth theory, according to which Russia would emerge as the world’s biggest power, and taking advantage of the weak position of Pakistan, India would infiltrate into Bangladesh and Nepal offering Bangladesh to become part of India.
Pakistan is confronting challenges both externally and internally, it is the time that all forces should unite and shun all their differences to save Pakistan, he said.
He was also quiet disturbed over the growing relations of China and Pakistan and strategically speaking, he said Indian forces would aggressively act on the boundaries of Pakistan. The government of Pakistan, he said, should take notice of external challenges, besides should also take notice of emergence of Daish, the Taliban and extremist elements who are distributing literature and wall chalking of Daish in the city and elsewhere in the country.
