ISLAMABAD: Balochistan government has withdrawn the notification for the formation of Parliamentary Committee of Balochistan notification to combat and to monitoring of Coronavirus under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary Balochistan Government.
The News/Jang in its report on April 7 pointed out the parliamentary Committee of Balochistan is a negation of Parliamentary tradition and practices as well gross violation of Parliamentary rules as any bureaucrat or unelected person could not head the Parliamentary committee that comprises of Provincial Ministers and elected members of Provincial Assembly.
Under the rules, no unelected person could head the Parliamentary Committee and even Former Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani has also raised objections on it saying that Parliamentary Committee cannot be headed by a person who is not a member of the House and itis also a slur on Institutions created by the Constitution as the Civil bureaucrats are there to assist such Committees.
After the news report appeared in The News/Jang, a notification S-11-5(27)/2020-S&GAD issued with the signature of Chief Secretary Balochistan Captain (R) Fazeel Asghar through which the notification of formation of Parliamentary Committee was withdrawn ab-initio.
Following the withdrawal of the notification, Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal will head the Parliamentary Committee of Balochistan on coronavirus.
