Labourers’ data being collected for financial aid
LAHORE: Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal has said data collecting process of labourers and daily wagers is going on expeditiously and after ascertaining mode of providing financial assistance, they will be given financial assistance soon. He was chairing the third meeting of Task Force for providing financial assistance at Civil Secretariat. The meeting reviewed progress relating to collecting data for providing financial aid to the labourers. Labour Minister Ansar Majeed Khan, senior officers of Industries and Trade and Labour Department attended the meeting. Aslam Iqbal said the PTI government is fully concerned about the difficulties of unemployed daily wagers and labourers due to lockdown. He assured that data collecting mechanism from labour unions, rickshaw unions and other associations is also under way by contacting them.
Aslam Iqbal vowed that provision of financial assistance to every labourer and daily wager being affected by lockdown will be ensured and it will be provided in a transparent manner. Later, matter pertaining to providing financial assistance through Bank of Punjab and other sources was also reviewed during the meeting.
