DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Ali Amin Gandapur has said that government was utilizing all the available resources to improve the health sector.
Speaking at a press conference here, he said that the doctors and the paramedical staff were at the frontlines to fight the coronavirus pandemic. Local leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were also present.
The minister maintained that the government would spare no effort to facilitate the health professionals. Gandapur said that Rs14 million would be spent to purchase new equipment for the health units in the district besides the establishment of a state-of-the-art children hospital there. The minister said that special walkthrough gates would be installed at public places in the city to check the spread of the Covid-19. He added that 12 ventilators were made available at the quarantine centers in Dera Ismail Khan. The minister said the PTI government was striving to put the country on the path to development. Gandapur said that it had happened for the first time in the country’s history that the enquiry reports in the sugar and flour crisis had been made public. About the remarks of the opposition parties after the reports were made public, he maintained that they should avoid indulging in political point-scoring at this critical juncture. To a query, the federal minister said that an enquiry had been ordered into the grievances of the “Zaireen”, who returned from Iran, about healthcare facilities at the quarantine centres in the district.
