PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) has said that the recent inquiry report had exposed the investors behind the flour and sugar crisis in the country but the government was yet to act against such elements. Through a statement, ANP President Asfandyar Wali Khan said that the investors who had invested for the incumbent government were held responsible for the wheat, flour and sugar crises in the country. He said these investors were rewarded by the government while the poor people of the country had to suffer. Asfandyar Wali Khan said that Pakistanis knew the flour and sugar thieves since the very beginning. The ANP leader thought these investors would silence those who would bring proofs against them for their thefts. Asfandyar Wali Khan said that the prime minister wanted to take credit for making the report public. However, he asked, why he had not taken action when these people were fleecing poor people of the country. While the nation wanted the punishment to these profiteers for their wrongdoing, he lamented that the same people were still present around the prime minister. The ANP chief expressed concern over the announcement of the amnesty scheme for the construction industry, saying it appears that the government may announce a similar package protecting his blue-eyed people. Asfandyar Wali said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-government was searching for every excuse to protect its corrupt party leaders. He said the nation expected a stern action against these corrupt elements in the PTI government who have been exposed by the report. However, he feared, the government would not take any action against these people.
