LAHORE:Moderate to heavy rain was witnessed at scattered localities of the provincial metropolis here Sunday night while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.
After the sunset a sudden dust storm hit the city which was followed by rain. The areas where rain was recorded included Township, Green Town, Model Town, Faisal Town, Garden Town, Ichhra, Sabzazar, Garhi Shahu, Mughalpura, Bhatti Gate and etc. Met officials said that continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country. They predicted that mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, rain thunderstorm is expected in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and its adjoining areas.
Rainfall was also recorded at other cities, including Joharabad 11, Chakwal 09, Bahawalpur (City 07, AP 05), Attock, Murree 03, Multan, Kot Addu 02, Parachinar 11, Cherat 05, Bannu 03, Saidu Sharif 02, Kakul 01, Rawalakot 07, Garhi Dupatta 04, Muzaffarabad (A.P, City 01), Barkhan 04 and Quetta (City, Samungli 01). Sunday's maximum temperature was recorded at Mithi where mercury reached up to 42°C while in Lahore, minimum temperature was 17.6°C and maximum was 31.4°C.
