DC for interfaith harmony in fight against corona
MIANWALI: Deputy Commissioner Omar Sher Chattha has asked the Ulema for restricting the congregational prayers and Juma prayer up to five people in mosques.
Addressing a meeting of Ulema belonging to different sects at DC Office on Friday, he called for interfaith harmony in fight against corona. He said that due to the threat of coronavirus, the government in consultation with the Ulema had decided to restrict the regular and Juma prayers up to five people in the mosques as precautionary measures.
DPO Hassan Asad Alvi said that decision of restriction was done in consultation with the Ulema and being members of the District Aman Committee it was our duty to abide by the government decisions voluntarily. Addressing the meeting, Maulana Abdul Malik, Allama Intsar Mehdi Najfi, Maulana Mansoor Sialvi, Mufti Ashraf Ali and Amjad Martin said that they would abide by the decisions of the government and would cooperate with the district administration in this regard.
27 cops promoted: DPO Hassan Asad Alvi has promoted 27 policemen, including 10 head constables, to the ranks of assistant sub-inspectors and head constables in the district.
According to the notification, DPO Hassan Asad Alvi has promoted 10 head constables of List C-1 district Mianwali to the rank of ASIs. The promoted head constables are Sher Muhammad, Abdul Jabbar, Muhammad Khan, Liaquat Khan, Tariq Mehmood, Muhammad Nazir, Muhammad Ramzan, Zafarullah, Sher Muhammad and Mukhtar Ahmad. Similarly, the DPO has also promoted 17 constables of the district to the rank of head constables. They included Khalid Hameed, Shoaib Khan, Zaheeruddin, Liaquat Ali, Muhammad Hayat, Waqas Khan, Mumraiz Haider, Asif Azeem, Nain Abbas, Ghulam Hussain, Hassan Sardar, Hafeezur Rehman, Muhammad Shahid, Amir Hayat, Khaliq Dad and Muhammad Zubair.
Nine criminals arrested: The police have arrested nine accused, including two proclaimed offenders, and recovered narcotics, weapons and cash from them.
During the continued drive against criminals, drug pushers and proclaimed offenders, Mouchh and Wan Bhachhran police teams conducted raids in their limits and arrested proclaimed offenders Amir s/o Haq nawaz and Bashir Ahmad alias Dada Bashira s/o Fateh Muhammad. These POs were wanted in murder and several other cases. The police teams also arrested criminals Asif Iqbal, Pervez, Azeem Yasir and Tanveer and recovered five pistols from them. Similarly, the police also arrested accused Mukhtar, Safiullah and Naimatullah and recovered 1.6kg hashish and Rs 2,900 from them. The police have registered separate cases and started investigation.
