Deny execution of TTP activists; Mamnoon, Bilawal, Imran condemn FC men’s killing

ISLAMABAD: The security authorities said on Monday that the Taliban were making lame excuses for carrying out terrorist activities in the country and the accusation levelled by the defunct Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) about the execution of its activists was baseless and unfounded.

 

Meanwhile, President Mamnoon Hussain, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engineer Shaukatullah, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and PTI Chairman Imran Khan, in their separate messages on Monday, strongly condemned the killing of 23 personnel of the Frontier Corps (FC) by the terrorists.

 

President Mamnoon Hussain said such incidents would negatively impact the government’s efforts for peace. Terming the incident heinous and atrocious, the president expressed deep grief over the killings of the personnel. He paid tribute to the sacrifice of the martyrs.

 

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Engineer Shaukatullah, strongly condemned the killing of FC Jawans in Mohmand Agency and said the tragic incident was indeed a shocking act of the worst kind of terrorism. Expressing deep sympathies with the members of the bereaved families, the governor said that the entire nation shared their grief and they should not feel themselves alone in this hour of trial.

 

The elements involved in the heinous crime would no more remain at large and would be brought to the court of law.Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Patron in Chief, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), strongly condemned the brutal killing of 23 soldiers of the Frontier Constabulary in Mohmand Agency by the TTP terrorists and termed it an open challenge to the entire nation and its security forces. He said a handful of individuals and Taliban apologists were trying to push the country into the hands of terrorists and such massacres of the nation’s brave soldiers were an eye-opener for all those who love this land and its people.

 

The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief, Imran Khan, also strongly condemned the killing of FC soldiers. He expressed deep grief and sorrow over the deaths and sympathised with the bereaved families on this irreparable loss of precious lives.

 

Meanwhile, a security official strongly condemned the killing of 13 policemen in Karachi and again the Frontier Constabulary (FC) soldiers by terrorists in their captivity. Terming the killings as blatant acts of terror, he said these were highly condemnable and provocative.
