MANSEHRA: The Rescue 1122 has established its secretariat and set to start its relief and rescue operation after installation of telephonic and other required services within a week time.

“We have established our secretariat at district council with the induction of over 60 trained staff and emergency services could be launched within a week as closure of offices because of coronavirus hampered telephonic and other installation procedures,” Amir Khadam, the spokesperson of Rescue 1122, told reporters here. He said as many as 60 staff members had reported so far. He said Hafeezur Rehman was leading the facility. “We expect some 40 more employees to report within a couple of days to assume their responsibilities and serve human beings in trouble,” said Khadam. He said that rescue and relief services with two each ambulances and fire tenders and a rescue vehicle would formally be launched next week. “The diver’s vehicle is expected to reach here shortly which could also be helpful in coping with water-related emergencies and rescuing people,” said Khadam. He said that their operation could have started here but because of current situation in the country and closure of offices hampered their operation. “As our telephonic services would install, we could launch relief and rescue services for people of the district,” said Khadam. He said his department had also scheduled a meeting with lawmaker Babar Saleem Swati seeking his intervention for a wide and suitable piece of land for its permanent secretariat here.
