FDA seals five unapproved housing schemes
FAISALABAD: The enforcement team of the FDA on Wednesday sealed five unapproved housing schemes in different localities and demolished illegal constructions besides taking machinery into custody from the spot.
The enforcement team headed by Estate Management Director Dr Anam Sajid and Estate Officer Imtiaz Goraya inspected the legal status of the housing schemes being established at different areas and found that Adan Valley, Al-Fajar Town, Hussain Town, Azafi Abadi Gatti and Azafi Abadi at Chak 202/RB were unapproved. The enforcement team immediately sealed these unapproved housing schemes and demolished illegal constructions. Moreover, the enforcement team took possession of the land specified for public utility services at Usman Block and Syed Block.
The management/developers of unapproved housing schemes had been asked to get permission to establish housing scheme by fulfilling all legal and departmental requirements/terms and conditions. FDA Director General Muhammad Sohail Khawaja warned that crackdown on unapproved and illegal housing scheme would continue and developers should refrain from violation of law. He asked the citizens who intended to buy plots should inquire the legal status of concerned housing scheme to avert any loss or worry.
SUMMARY: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has forwarded a summary to the Punjab government for seeking approval to declare 21 roads of residential colonies under the control of the authority as commercial.
The summary had been sent by the approval of FDA’s governing body. This was informed by FDA Director General Muhammad Sohail Khawaja while talking to newsmen here on Wednesday.
Giving details, the DG said that the residential plots were being used as commercial basis in different FDA colonies, which was violation of building laws and legal action was being taken against the violators. However, the FDA proposed such area declaring as commercial to bring these properties into legal framework, he told. He informed that 21 roads proposed for declaring as commercial, include Madina Town Extension, Gulistan Colony No 1 and No 2, Sir Syed Town and Allama Iqbal Colony.
He informed that according to survey report, 870 plots were located on these proposed roads out of them 325 plots were residential and 543 were being used as commercial while two plots were vacant.
