PESHAWAR: Senior Minister and leader of Awami National Party (ANP) Bashir Ahmad Bilour Wednesday condemned the political forces which were trying to link the attack on Malala Yousafzai with Blackwater and other issues and said it amounted to supporting the Taliban.

“Malala is the symbol of resistance as she raised voice for peace and education. She was targetted for demanding this just right,” he said while speaking at the “Guest Hour” Programme at the Peshawar Press Club. President Khyber Union of Journalists (KhUJ) Arshad Aziz Malik, President Peshawar Press Club Saiful Islam Saifi and a large number of journalists were present on the occasion.

Bashir Bilour said the government condemned the US drone attacks but linking these strikes with attack on Malala was unjustified. He said the war against terror was Pakistan’s war as the people of the country were being targetted and killed. “How can one say that it is not our war when our mosques, hujras, bazaars and funeral are not safe and people are being killed ruthlessly,” he said, adding, “it is our war and we will fight it till elimination of the terror.”
