ISLAMABAD: Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira on Monday stated that the government’s stance on writing to the Swiss authorities had not changed and it had prepared a draft to present before the apex court today (Tuesday).
He said that the letter would mark the return of the letter that was written to the Swiss authorities by former Attorney General Malik Qayyum.Talking to the media in parliament, Kaira said that Law Minister Farooq H Naek wouldpresent the draft of the letter in the Supreme Court, adding that the government would respect the viewpoint of the court if it ordered changes to be made in the draft of the letter. He also said that the government had also given various options to the Supreme Court during the tenure of former prime minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani.
Kaira denounced the statement of Railways Minister Ghulam Ahmad Bilour against the makers of the anti-Islam film and said the government had no link with the minister’s announcement of a bounty on the filmmaker.
