BARA: The Shalobar Amn Lashkar has offered amnesty to all militants involved in petty crimes and asked them to play their role in restoration of peace in Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency, a pamphlet issued on Sunday said.
The leaflet carrying the signature of the lashkar chief stated that militants who surrender to the tribal armed force would be allowed to re-settle in Shalobar area.“To strengthen the tribal peace force, each and every family in Shalobar area would have to provide a volunteer to the Shalobar Amn Lashkar,” it added.
The pamphlet warned that in case of murder, the killer would be shot dead while his house would demolished and the family of the murderer would have to pay Rs1 million to the tribal lashkar for violating peace in its jurisdiction.
In addition, the perpetrator would be fined Rs1 million for inflicting injuries to someone in Shalobar area, it said. The leaflets that were circulated in Bara Qadeem bazaar, Battatal and Qambarabad area, said that heroin, alcohol and gambling dens would be banned in the Shalobar area.
The lashkar announced that local people would be allowed to exercise their traditions and customs, which had earlier been replaced by the militants with their self-created version of Shariah in the area.
