ISLAMABAD: The PPP leaders on Saturday met the hospitalised Sindhi Comrade Ghulam Rasool Sehto and managed to convince him to end his protest hunger strike after doctors declared his conditions as serious after 122 days of no food intake.

 

“I got a categorical assurance from the government for ensuring the irrigation water availability to the tail end farmers, check on water theft

 

and reactivation of 41,000 primary schools in Sindh,” he told the media persons at the hospital.

 

Barrister Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan and Chairman Pakistan Baitul Mal Zamurrad Khan

 

advocate went to the hospital on the directives of the government to manage ending

 

the hunger strike of Sehto, President Sindh Hari Committee.

 

“We would also take up the issue with Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and other relevant authorities to ensure that the issues, for which Sehto is protesting, be resolved on priority basis,” Aitzaz told the media.

 

Aitzaz and Zamurrad said that Sehto has a great mission behind his protest. “I will personally take up the issue on the floor of the Senate.”
