RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani visited South Waziristan Friday and said “to eliminate the menace of terrorism, continued support of the public and development of the area is as important as military operations against the miscreants,” according to an ISPR press release
The army chief talked to commanding officers of formations and units deployed in the area. Speaking on the occasion, he emphasised the importance of sustaining achievements against terrorism made in recent years and praised the sacrifices rendered by the army in the fight against terror.Earlier, upon arrival in Dera Ismail Khan, the COAS was received by Peshawar Corps Commander Lieutenant General Khalid Rabbani.
