SUKKUR: The Yaum-e-Ishq-e-Rasool (BBUH) was observed here and the adjacent cities of in Sukkur.

 

Ishq-e-Rasool (BBUH) rallies were taken out by the JUI-F; Sunni Tehrik; Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat; trade and labour unions; the PML-N; the PML-F; the PTI and others in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Khairpur, Shikarpur, Ghotki, Naushehro Feroze, Sanghar, Umarkot, Mirpurkhas, Mithi, Nawabshah and other cities against sacrilegious movie produced in the USA.

 

The rallies, after marching on the streets peacefully, terminated at the press clubs of the districts. There was complete shutter down, even medical stores, petrol pumps were closed. There were no other business activities and there was no traffic on the roads.

 

The participants of the rallies, expressing their extreme hatred, burnt effigies of the maker of the movie, President Obama, Hillary Clinton and US national flags. Leaders and speakers, while addressing the rallies, condemned the silence of Pakistan government over the sacrilegious movies.

 

The participants also said it was questionable and dubious that the PPP kept itself isolated from the rallies. They said the announcement by the government of declaring Friday as public holiday was its double standard.

 

Meanwhile, religious enthusiasm and emotionalism was visible among the participants, wherever the rallies were held in the province. There was deployment of police in order to maintain law and order while there was enhanced deployment at sensitive Points. Rangers and police continued patrolling in the cities.
