LAHORE: Lawyers of Lahore Bar Association (LBA) on Saturday observed complete strike in a bid to protest against controversial anti-Islam film made in the U.S.
On Saturday, lawyers of subordinate courts, Zilla Kachery, Model Town Courts, Cantt Courts and Sessions Courts did not join the court proceedings.
The call for the strike was give by the Punjab Bar Council and was fully endorsed by LBA lawyers due to religious importance of the issue.
Lawyers, while talking to The News, said that the act (film) had hurt the sentiments of the Muslims living around the globe. Cutting across the ideological divide, all political parties and courtiers of the world should condemn this inhuman act of making ant-Islam film which could disturb the world peace, they added.
Lawyers termed the act of U.S filmmaker quite shameful and notorious, which was not allowed by any religion, demanding a stern punishment for the persons behind this heinous conspiracy. They criticized the Pakistani government which had not taken any strict action against the US government in this regard. Lawyers said that it was not just an act but an assault on Muslim Ummah.
