QUETTA: Another three members of the Hazara community were shot dead and two injured here on Monday. The deceased were identified as Zamin Ali, Mustafa and Muhammad Ali. The injured were Ghulam Raza and Zahir Shah.

 

Police said that a pick-up, which had been on its way to Marriabad from the Hazara Town, came under attack on the Spini Road.The unidentified assailants, stated to be two in number, opened fire on the pickup with some automatic weapons, killing three persons instantly and injuring two others. The victims sustained multiple bullet injuries.

 

The injured were first taken to the Bolan Medical Complex Hospital and then to the CMH, police officials said. The assailants managed to escape.Tension gripped the city in the wake of the incident, forcing the shopkeepers to close their shops for the day.

 

Heavy contingents of the Frontier Constabulary (FC), police and the Balochistan Constabulary were called in to maintain law and order. The Hazara Democratic Party (HDP) strongly condemned the incident and demanded of the government to arrest the killers immediately. Police, however, have been clueless about who could have been involved in the incident.
