JACOBABAD: Sixty Hindu families are migrating to India due to the law and order and extortion issues in Jacobabad.
According to details, the Hindu families left Jacobabad for Lahore by Jaffar Express from where they would cross the Wagha border on Friday morning.Mahesh Kumar, among those migrating families, told The News that they did not want to leave their motherland but they were compelled to migrate.
“There is nobody here who will listen to our problems and take notice of them,” he said.Kumar said there had hardly been a day when the Hindu people did not get threats from the extortionists, nor a day when a Hindu’s house had not been barged into.
He alleged that even their womenfolk were not safe now.Replying to a question, Mahesh Kumar, tears welling in his eyes, said he and his family had been well settled here, and they did not want to leave the “Sindh Dharti”, but they had not been left with any other option now.
On the railway station, the president of the Hindu General Panchayat of Jacobabad, Mahesh Lakhani, while talking to the media people, said that through a conspiracy, the Hindus were being harassed so that the land mafia could occupy their properties worth billions of rupees.
Lakhani said that he had been saying it at the top of his voice, but nobody was willing to take any notice.Meanwhile, the SSP of Jacobabad, Younis Chandio, told The News that those families would come back, and that they had gone to visit their religious places in India and there was no lawlessness in Jacobabad.
