ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf Saturday directed Interior Minister Rehman Malik to ensure law and order situation in Balochistan by all means.
The prime minister issued such directives when Rehman Malik called on him at PM House and discussed with him the over all political and security situation in the country with special reference to Balochistan.
He apprised him about the speech delivered by him in the Senate where he unveiled the elements responsible for instability in Balochistan. The PM directed the minister to take every possible measure and ensure that people of Balochistan live in peace and their life and property is secured.
Later, Senator Sardar Fateh Muhammad Hasni and Sardar Saleem Haider MOS for Defence also called on the prime minister separately and discussed ongoing political situation in the country.
The PM said that he has constituted a high-powered committee under the Chairmanship of Federal Minister for Defence Syed Naveed Qamar to put up a comprehensive report about the situation in Balochistan. “The committee was consulting all stakeholders, before it comes up with its recommendations,” he added.
He said that he was confident that with the cooperation and support of the people of Balochistan the government would be able to overcome the present difficulties. Senator Sardar Fateh Muhammad Hasni assured the PM of all possible assistance and cooperation to the government in its endeavour to improve the situation in Balochistan. Sardar Saleem Haider apprised the premier about various ongoing development schemes of his constituency.
Meanwhile, former AJK Prime Minister Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry called on the prime minister at the PM House and apprised him of the ongoing development projects in Azad Kashmir.
The PM appreciated Barrister Sultan Mehmood for his services for the cause of Kashmir. He also commended his efforts for strengthening PPP in AJK. Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry thanked the government of Pakistan for its continuous support to Kashmir cause.
