RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) officials here on Monday stated before the Lahore High Court (LHC), Rawalpindi Bench, that they did not want the custody of former Director General, Health, Prof Dr Rasheed Juma, an accused turned approver, in the case of alleged illegal quota of ephedrine.

 

The former DG Health then withdrew his application for bail before arrest after the ANF investigators’ statement. ANF Special Public Prosecutor Wasim Ahmed told the court that the former DG Health was not wanted by the investigators as he agreed to depose against other accused in the case.

 

Meanwhile, the LHC division bench extended the pre-arrest bail of the Federal Minister for Textile Industries, a PPP MNA Ali Musa Gillani, son of former Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, till August 6.

 

The same division bench also extended the pre-arrest bail to another PPP MNA, Makhdoom Shahabud Din till August 06 after lawyers to the both Ali Musa and Makhdoom Shahab did not appear before the court.

 

Rizwan Khan, a director of Islamabad based pharmaceutical company Danas, also withdrew his pre-arrest bail application after the ANF investigators told the court that his physical custody was not required
