ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) would lodge a complaint with the Press Trust of United Kingdom (PTUK) against a tabloid, The Sun, for publishing a fake news item to defame Pakistan.

Nadra Chairman Tariq Malik on Monday told APP that there was a procedure to sue the newspaper as first we have to lodge a complaint with the ombudsman at the National Press Trust of the UK.

“We are waiting for a report of the Joint Investigation Team and as soon as we receive their findings we would finalise the complaint and send it to the Ministry of Interior for further proceedings,” he said.Tariq Malik, who became chairman of the Nadra a couple of weeks ago, said the authority was expected to complete the complaint by this week,.
