SUKKUR: Sindh Minister for Fisheries and President PPP Hyderabad District, Zahid Ali Bhurgri said the Sindh government has provided Ramazan Package of Rs2.5 billion to provide flour to the consumers on subsidised rates and also made all kitchen items available at the Utility Stores on concession rates.

In a statement issued to the press here on Monday, Zahid Ali Bhurgri said a triangular strategy has been adopted by the Sindh government to provide relief to the consumers inthe Holy month of Ramazan under which, in addition to providing flour at subsidised rates, all Utility Stores have been packed with all kitchen items for sale on concession rates.

The minister said the prices of daily use items have been fixed and traders were bound to sell these items on the fixed prices. He said all the Revenue officers, having special judicial powers, including Deputy Commissioners of the concerned districts, have been put in place to monitor the markets, pay surprise visits and take action in case of any overcharging.

He directed the Revenue officers to establish Complaint Centres and get feedback from the people and take on the spot action in case of over-charging or not display price lists. He also asked the people not to pay more than the fixed prices and report at the nearest Complaint Centres.

He advised the people to get their daily use goods from Utility Stores, where, according to him, the prices are less than the prices in the markets. The minister also directed the officers of the District Administration that benefits of the Ramazan Package are trickled down to the poor segment of the society.
