CHAMAN: At least 12 persons, including three women and two children, were killed and seven others injured in a roadside bomb blast inside the Spin-Boldak territory of Afghanistan near Chaman on Sunday.

 

According to Assistant Commissioner, Chaman, Habibullah Khan, the injured had been brought to the District Headquarters Hospital. He confirmed that the blast took place inside Afghanistan in the Spin-Boldak area along the Pak-Afghan border. Official sources said that a mini-truck carrying Afghan nationals, including women and children, was on its way when it hit a landmine planted in the Sheen Naray area of Spin-Boldak. A powerful explosion took place which claimed 12 lives and injured seven others.

 

The rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the injured to a hospital in Chaman. According to doctors, the condition of some injured was critical.“The mini-truck, carrying Afghan refugees, had crossed into Afghanistan from the Pakistani side via a Friendship Gate when it met with a mishap,” a border force official said.
