ISLAMABAD: The residents of the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad witnessed the worst precedent of ruining rules when the police forces of the Punjab and Islamabad came up with arms and ammunition to show their might.

The Punjab police used their power to arrest Malik Riaz and Federal Capital police came with arms and ammunition to protect him, an officer of the Punjab police said.

The anti-Corruption Department should have written to the Interior Ministry or IGP, Islamabad, for the provision of police force for the arrest, but they sought help from the Punjab police which was against the law, an officer of the Islamabad police said. He said action had also been taken again some Islamabad police officials for showing negligence, and case registered against the intruders.
