QUETTA: Three persons have been killed and eight others sustained injures in an exchange of fire that took place between two tribes in Chashma Achozai area of the provincial capital on Tuesday.
Police sources told APP that tribesmen of Kasi and Kakar tribes took positions against each other over a land dispute in Chashma Achozai area, some 5km from the city and opened fire at each other. “As a result, three persons were killed and eight others injured,” police maintained.
The police rushed to the site and dispersed the armed tribesmen. The injured have been shifted to the Combined Military Hospital, Quetta, due to their serious condition. A large contingent of law enforcement agencies has been deployed in the area to avert any further untoward incident.
Meanwhile, unidentified armed men gunned down a schoolteacher on the Arbab Karam Khan Road here on Tuesday. Police sources said that unknown gunmen riding a bike opened fire at a senior teacher Nazir Ahmed and killed him.
The assailants managed to escape from the scene. The police rushed to the site and shifted the body to hospital, which after autopsy was handed over to the heirs. In Kalat, a man was shot dead here in Dasht-e-Goran area on Tuesday, local Levies sources said. The deceased was identified as Rehmatullah Sheikh. The reason behind the murder was not yet ascertained. Levies Force registered the case and started investigation.
