ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday approved the appointment of seven Additional Judges in High Court of Sindh.

 

The president appointed Additional Judges; Syed Muhammad Farooq Shah (District & Session Judge), Farooq Ali Channa (District & Session Judge) and Habib-ur-Rahman Shaikh, Aziz-ur-Rehman, Aftab Ahmed Gorar, Salahudddin Panhwar and Riazat Ali Sahar who are lawyers.

 

The summary received in this regard stated that the Judicial Commission of Pakistan had forwarded the above nominations to the Parliamentary Committee on Judges Appointment in the Superior Courts.

 

The committee during its meeting held on 14th June 2012 observed that the persons recommended by the Judicial Commission of Pakistan possessed the requisite qualifications/experience and enjoyed good reputation and were found fit for appointment as Additional Judges in High Court of Sindh.

 

The committee, therefore, unanimously agreed and confirmed the nominations and requested the prime minister to advise the president to accord his approval for these appointments.Accordingly, acting upon the advice of the prime minister, the president also accorded his approval to these appointments as Additional Judges of High Court of Sindh.
