ISLAMABAD: Real estate tycoon Malik Riaz on Monday filed a petition in the Supreme Court, seeking orders for strict security during his appearance before the court on June 21, saying he was receiving threats and his life was in danger.

In his plea, the tycoon alleged that he had been threatened by some lawyers during his last appearance. He stated that he was being vilified and a media campaign was being run to provoke the people against him.

Riaz said since he was a taxpayer and a respected man in the real estate business, fool-proof security was his right.Riaz noted that the Supreme Court registrar and lawenforcement agencies should be directed to make security arrangements so that he could present his case without any fear. The Bahria Town founder said both his life and reputation were at stake.
