LAHORE: The Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) handed over five Indians to the Border Security Force at Wahga border on Friday.
The prisoners, including Bhanudas Karale of Ahmednagar district, Maharashtra, Khushbo Pasawan, Muhammad Ali Ahsan, son of Mohammad Jamdrati, Khaki Hussain Shah, son of Razaq Hussain Shah, and Gyan Chan, son of Karishan Dutt.
They were arrested for illegally entering Pakistan. Sources said that efforts were made for the release of Bhanudas, 58, under the banner of Aman Ki Asha. He was arrested on August 28, 2010. He was granted bail on September 21 that year. Since the`n, he had been waiting to get out of the Kot Lakhpat jail in Lahore.
Special arrangements were made by the Rangers on the occasion and the prisoners were handed over to BSF under strict security measures.
