QUETTA: Over 15 people, including three tribesmen, were killed in an armed clash between unknown armed men and the Levies force in Bulanosh area of district Chaghai on Friday.
Officials of the district administration said that the armed clash took place between the Levies force and unknown armed men in Bulanosh, some 10 kms from the Pak-Afghan border of district Chaghai. The Levies force carried out action against the armed men who murdered the son of a tribal elder of district Chaghai, and were hiding in the hilly area of Bulanosh.
The Levies force attacked the hideout of attackers and an exchange of fire took place between them, said officials of the district administration Chaghai. “Fifteen people, including three tribesmen and 12 attackers, were killed in the bloody clash,” Deputy Commissioner Chaghai Tufail Baloch told The News.
Officials of the Levies force told The News that they had seized several rocket launchers and modern weapons during the raid conducted at the hideout of attackers. “The situation is under control as we have deployed additional troops of law enforcement agencies in the area,” said the DC Chaghai.
Officials of the District Headquarters Hospital, Chaghai, said that the bodies of four deceased were removed to the morgue of hospital. Further investigation is in progress.The incident created tension in the area as tribesmen, while carrying modern weapons, started patrolling in the area. The district administration had deployed additional Levies troops in the area to control the situation and avert any unpleasant incident as a backlash of the killings.
