Duty to the environment

By our correspondents
November 30, 2015
The Paris conference affords us the opportunity to reflect on our vulnerabilities to climate change and the measures we have taken so far to address this global issue. Though our share in the pollution pie is minimal when compared to developed countries, we are one of the biggest victims of the subsequent ecological imbalance. For the past few years, we have seen erratic weather patterns and unprecedented drought periods that are believed to be inevitable and irreversible now.
We should implement a national environmental policy in this country. We need to protect and reclaim our environment through practices like aforestation. But this requires people to understand that protecting the environment is a sacred duty.
