The Houbara pillar

By our correspondents
November 28, 2015
The government has claimed before the Supreme Court that inviting foreign dignitaries to hunt the Houbara bustard is a “pillar of our foreign policy”. With such ‘pillars’, one can only imagine how much we need to rejuvenate and revamp our foreign policy. It has also been stated that the ban already has and will continue to “adversely affect the country’s already-weakened relations with the Gulf states in the wake of turmoil in the region.”
‘Friendly’ or ‘brotherly’ relations with states are maintained on the basis of respect – not at the price of our dignity.
