Loyal to the party

This refers to the news report, ‘Raza Rabbani calls for across-the-board accountability’ (October 1). Most Pakistanis would welcome the action against corrupt people, whether they be politicians, businessmen, civil bureaucrats or khakis. Because of corruption, Pakistanis are missing out on many things that is rightfully theirs.
Corruption is like paying an additional tax but without any benefit. However, what I find surprising is that during the five-year term of the PPP, we never heard Rabbbani, at least in public, calling for action against corruption. Or did he realise that if he did so he would fall out of favour with the party leadership? Or is he trying to show his support for his corrupt party leaders who are in hot water at the moment?
