The Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has put meritocracy on top of its agenda. In many government departments merit is strictly followed. However, it is unfortunate that women’s education in Chitral has been kept out of the PTI agenda of change. For the last two years corruption, nepotism and irregularities in promotions and transfers have been the order of the day.
During a recent visit of the director education, KP to Chitral, irregularities were brought to his notice and he had ordered an inquiry but no inquiry has taken place so far. The provincial government should find an experienced officer to head the district education office in Chitral.
