Shandur revival

The Shandur Polo Festival is again in the news. For some unknown reasons, the dates for the festival have been changed to August 18-20, 2015. In August, Shandur experiences dust storms. As Ramazan will probably start from June 19 this year, June 6-8 are suitable dates for holding the festival.As

The Shandur Polo Festival is again in the news. For some unknown reasons, the dates for the festival have been changed to August 18-20, 2015. In August, Shandur experiences dust storms. As Ramazan will probably start from June 19 this year, June 6-8 are suitable dates for holding the festival.
As far as co-hosting the event with GB is concerned, this will likely create unease among people. Chitral has hosted the event for the last 85 years. Historically, the GB team was never part of the Shandur festival. It was started during Gen Ziaul Haq’s martial law.
