This refers to the letter, ‘House of glass’ (April 22) by Masood Khan. Among other pertinent issues including nepotism the writer has raised a critical question regarding Malala Yousafzai. It is not only KP that has ignored the youngest Nobel Laureate, it is also the federal government as well as all other provincial governments that have forgotten this icon of peace and education.
Without questioning the highly touted patriotism of our rulers, I am constrained to argue that our country has totally ignored the young girl immensely honoured by the whole world. This discrepancy raises disturbing questions: whether our political leadership is with or against terrorists and whether Pakistan is or is not a part of the watchful world. Issues of bad governance and terrorism have placed us in a questionable category of nations. The government has to choose between the terrorists and Malala. This choice will determine our commitment to get rid of the greatest threat to our homeland. Any delay will isolate us from the community of nations. While we celebrate the CPEC, we will have to put our own house in order; otherwise there will be no FDI.
