Focus on the good

Why focus only on a half empty glass when half of the glass is full? This helps the pessimist regain confidence. Likewise, it would be unjust of us to talk only about the shortage of petrol and energy in the country and not pay attention to those organisations and departments

Why focus only on a half empty glass when half of the glass is full? This helps the pessimist regain confidence. Likewise, it would be unjust of us to talk only about the shortage of petrol and energy in the country and not pay attention to those organisations and departments that are recovering and coming out of a state of crisis. Take the example of the Pakistan Steel Mills, which is regaining its previous position after a number of years due to the bailout package of Rs18.5 billion given by the government of Pakistan. It is also claimed that it will reach a breakeven point in this current financial year.
Pakistan Railways is another example; it is recovering fast after a long crisis. It is reported that during FY-2013-2014, it earned Rs25 billion in revenue, Rs7 billion more than last year. It is hoped that national organisations like PIA can also progress if sincere efforts are made in the right direction.
