This is with reference to Chaudhry Nisar's address to an Islamabad Police passing out parade on October 13. Ch Sahib very rightly advised the police officers to become people friendly. The situation on the ground is quite the opposite. Except for some honest and polite policeman, the attitude of a majority of cops can be characterised as: high-handed and rude. The way law-abiding citizens are treated by the police is no secret.

Ch Nisar also alluded to those in the Islamabad Police who are found to be colluding with the criminals. There are many cases of unfortunate victims lodging reports in the concerned police stations and then invariably receiving calls from real or pretend car lifters, asking for money for the return of their vehicles. The only way the criminals could have identified the unfortunate owners or their mobile numbers would be through the police report. The evidence speaks for itself.
