Rehman Malik has placed the entire blame for the complete failure of law and order in Islamabad on the Punjab government. This is another childish and irresponsible statement by an all-important minister who is responsible for maintaining law and order in the country. Let’s suppose Malik is right, then why did we see a complete breakdown of law and order in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, especially in Peshawar and Mardan, and also in Karachi?

Moreover, why is the ministry he heads, the ministry of interior, unable to control the large-scale targeted killings in Karachi and Balochistan? I hope he doesn’t put the blame for all these on the Punjab government too. Rehman Malik should accept his total failure in maintaining law and order in the country and resign if the interest of Pakistan is dear to him.
